Brain Injury Association Sudbury & District in Partnership with March of Dimes Canada hosted our annual Holiday Gala on Thursday, December 8, 2017.
We were thrilled to have had over 130 guests in attendance, making the Gala an evening to remember. Our members enjoyed a fabulous holiday dinner which included turkey, stuffing, steamed vegetables, salad and a variety of holiday treats proudly sponsored by Oatley Vigmond LLP. For many of our members, the Gala is their only holiday meal and celebration.
Thanks to the generosity of Source Rehabilitation Services each survivor was presented with gift cards from various local retailers. In addition to gift cards, each survivor was able to select a gift from March of Dimes Canada and a gift bag of goodies from BIASD.
During the dinner, we held a friendly competition to end the feud between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadians. Two dedicated Leaf fans and two die-hard Habs fans were tasked with engaging the crowd to cheer for the greatest hockey team. The competition was close but in the end the room roared the loudest for Toronto.
In addition to a wonderful meal and hockey shenangigans, we provided a festive holiday photo booth courtesy of Bartimaeus Rehabilitation Services Inc. and spotlight dances sponsored by Comfort Keepers and Trac Group.
Our Gala is about more than just the holidays; it is about friendship, community and removing the barriers of brain injury. For one night, we dine, we dance and we celebrate.
